Firepit tables are a brilliant addition to any outdoor area, providing warmth and a ambiance setting for gatherings. If you’re lighting your firepit table for the first time, here’s a simple guide to get you started.
Before You Begin
Safety First: Ensure your firepit table is on a stable, flat surface. Remove any flammable items nearby, such as overhanging branches. Always use the firepit outdoors for safety.
Watch for Wind: Be cautious of high winds, which can pose a danger with an open flame. If it’s breezy, consider lowering the adjustable control for added safety.
Prepare the Table
Remove the cover panel: Take off the ceramic or metal panel to access the firepit.
Install the Safety Glass: Place the safety glass surround around the firepit for protection.
Add Lava Stones or Beads: Pour the lava stones or glass beads into the firepit, but avoid using the entire bag so you can still cover them with the cover tile.
Insert the Battery
Find the Ignitor: Locate the ignitor button on the firepit controls and unscrew the cap.
Insert the Battery: Use a AA or AAA battery and screw the cap back on tightly.

Step-by-Step Lighting Guide
Locate the Gas Bottle Storage: Open the drawer for the gas bottle.
Connect the Gas Bottle: Place a 5kg propane patio gas bottle in the drawer and connect the red nozzle. You may need to turn the nozzle on once connected.
Use the Control Panel: The control panel has an ignitor switch and a temperature control switch.
Press the Ignitor: While pressing the ignitor switch, you’ll hear a clicking sound.
Adjust the Temperature: While still pressing the ignitor, push the temperature control dial in and turn it clockwise. It is important to note that most systems require you to keep the temperature dial held in for around 10 seconds whilst the firepit is lit. If you do not hold the dial in the fire will go out. This is a safety measure designed to ensure the firepit is working correctly. After 10 seconds you can stop pushing the dial in and adjust the temperature control as normal.
Ignite: If you do steps 4 and 5 simultaneously, the firepit will ignite.
Enjoy and Maintain
Now that your firepit is lit, enjoy the warmth and ambiance it provides. For optimal performance, keep these maintenance tips in mind:
- Clean Regularly: Periodically clean the burner and firepit surface to prevent debris buildup.
- Check Gas Levels: Monitor your propane supply to avoid running out unexpectedly.
- Cover When Not in Use: Use a weather-resistant cover to protect the firepit from the elements.
By following these steps, you can safely and enjoyably experience the elegance and comfort of your Bramblecrest firepit table in your outdoor space!

My Firepit is not lighting – Troubleshoot
Having issues with your firepit ? Lets go through two of the most common issues:
- Does the battery have charge and positioned correctly ? : Press in the ignitor button and make sure you hear a clicking sound. If you cannot hear this noise the battery is the issue. We would recommend replacing the battery and making sure it has been placed into the battery holder the correct way around, it is easy to place the battery in the wrong orientation.
- Check the gas level ?: To know if you have any gas press in the temperature control dial very briefly and you should hear the gas. If you don’t hear anything you have probably ran out of gas and will need to have your bottle refilled.
I need more advice, my firepit is still not working?
If your gas fire pit won’t ignite, several factors could be at play:
Empty or Low Gas Tank: One of the most frequent reasons for a gas fire pit not lighting is an empty or low fuel tank. Check the propane or natural gas supply to ensure there’s enough fuel.
Closed Gas Valve: If the gas valve is closed or not fully open, the fire pit won’t ignite. Ensure the valve is completely open to allow gas flow.
Faulty Igniter or Pilot Light: A malfunctioning igniter or pilot light can also prevent lighting. Check if the igniter sparks when you try to light it. If it doesn’t, it may need replacement.
Clogged Burner or Gas Line: Debris or insects can obstruct the burner or gas line over time. Cleaning these components can restore proper gas flow.
Faulty Thermocouple or Safety Valve: The thermocouple measures heat from the pilot light; if it malfunctions, it may shut off the gas flow. A faulty safety valve can also prevent gas from reaching the burner. If you suspect these issues, professional assistance may be needed.
How to Troubleshoot a Gas Fire Pit That Won’t Light
If your gas fire pit isn’t lighting, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Check the Gas Supply: Ensure the gas supply valve is fully open. A partially closed valve will prevent ignition.
Inspect the Gas Lines: Look for visible leaks, damage, or blockages in the hoses and connections. Replace any faulty parts.
Clean the Burner: The burner ports may be clogged. Use a small wire brush or needle to remove any debris. Always turn off the gas supply and allow the fire pit to cool before cleaning.
Check the Gas Pressure: Low gas pressure can hinder ignition. Use a gas pressure gauge to test the pressure. If it’s below the recommended level, contact a professional to adjust it.
Examine the Gas Line: Look for any bends or obstructions in the gas line that could impede gas flow. Straighten or clean the line as needed.
Verify the Igniter: Inspect the igniter for damage or buildup. Clean it if necessary. You can also try manually lighting the fire pit with a long match or lighter to see if the igniter is the issue.
Replace the Gas Regulator: If the problem persists, the gas regulator may be faulty and could require professional replacement.
Consult a Professional: If all troubleshooting steps fail, it’s best to contact a professional gas technician. They have the expertise to diagnose and fix complex issues.
FAQs
